Get registered to vote at the library
If you are not yet registered to vote in Illinois or need to update your registration, the library can help!
You must be 18 on or before the next general election, must be a U.S. citizen on the day of registration, live in your election precinct at least 30 days, must not be serving a sentence of confinement in any penal institution as a result of a conviction, may not claim the right to vote anywhere else, and must bring two forms of ID (neither needs to be a photo ID, but one must include your current address).
Acceptable forms of ID include:
- Illinois driver's license
- Illinois state ID
- Employee or student ID
- Credit card
- Social Security card
- Birth certificate
- Utility bill in your name
- Valid U.S. passport
No appointment necessary, just stop by anytime during normal business hours.
