Getting Ready for Christmas on the Ukulele

Join Ukulele instructor, Kim Brush, for a special Ukulele fingerpicking class. Current students and Ukulele players are invited to attend and participate in this event.
Ukuleles may be available for checkout.
Who: General public ages 18 and up. You do not need a library card to attend.
When: Thursday, November 9, 1 pm-3 pm
Where: First-Floor Community Room, O'Fallon Public Library
Kim Brush is a musician and educator in O'Fallon, Illinois. She served as general music instructor and children's choir director for 35 years at Whiteside School in Belleville, Illinois. She also served as band director for 5 years. In 2013, she started a program for 5th graders to learn to play ukulele. After learning to play, students would entertain residents at the assisted care facility in the district. In addition to public education, Kim has served as organist, pianist, choir director, children's choir director, and worship director in several local churches. She volunteers as a pianist for church services at St. Paul's Care Center in Belleville, Illinois. She also conducts “hymn sings” at several assisted care centers. During her retirement, Kim teaches at the Belleville PSOP program, teaching seniors to play ukulele. She also participates in several ukulele jam groups and performs in her own ukulele band, Kainoa Girls.
