Overcome Your Fear of Public Speaking
Nervous about public speaking? You're not alone! Participants to this free workshop will learn how to effectively deliver speeches (e.g., tributes, informative, demonstrative, and motivational).

Dr. Cynthia Jenkins is a Soft Skills Expert, Educator, and Motivational Speaker. She has over twenty experiences in higher education including 17 years in post-secondary instruction. In 2003, Cynthia founded a non-profit organization, Sisters On The Move, designed to lend a helping hand to people in need. Under her leadership, students from low-income families received over $15,000 in scholarships, an estimated $4000 was donated to March of Dimes to help support the health of mothers and babies, 25 families received Thanksgiving Baskets, and nearly 200 children received toys from a partnership with Toys for Tots program and the local military base. In 2010, Sisters On The Move, sponsored a Book Award Scholarship at Southwestern Illinois College for East St. Louis residents and funds were provided for textbooks and other school supplies. In 2015, Cynthia started a catering business, Oh Give Thanks Catering and 15% of all proceeds were donated to faith-based organizations designed to help provide financial relief to needy families/residents in the St. Clair, O’Fallon and Belleville, IL counties.
In 2019, Cynthia received her Doctorate in Education after completing an exploratory case study on the importance of soft skills in the 21st-century global marketplace. She is a People Builder and the founder and owner of Helping Other People Excel (H.O.P.E). The mission of H.O.P.E. is to promote the whole person (e.g., spiritual, physical, mental, social, emotional, vocational, financial, and educational) and enable everyone to live a well-balance life. Helping Other People Excel exist to motivate, teach, and inspire residents from St. Louis to multiple Illinois counties to obtain their academic, career, and personal goals, to become contributor members of society, and to live a happy fulfilling life.
