Part-Time Page (Shelver)
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.
Schedule will average 15-20 hours per week. Starting salary $8.26 per hour.
This position is permanent part-time and will continue through the school year.

Essential Duties:

  • Shelving library materials
  • Checking in and sorting returned items
  • Public interaction: helping patrons find items and answering questions
  • Assisting with Children’s programs as needed
  • Helping with special events or other projects as assigned by the Circulation Lead or Director

Requirements:

  • At least 16 years of age
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively with little direct supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, as well as ability to sit, stand, reach, crouch, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work regularly scheduled shifts and additional hours as needed
  • Ability to use a computer and other technology

Part-Time Circulation Lead
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.
28 hours per week. Starting salary $14.85- $17.00 per hour

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must have expert understanding of Polaris
  • Experience handling overdues and billing. (Telephony is used to notify of overdues and holds.)
  • Experience providing excellent customer service including dealing with patron problems.
  • Experience working independently and problem solve without strict adherence to a definite set of rules.
  • At least 3 years of circulation experience.
  • Must be an enthusiastic team player and act as a positive role model
  • High School diploma.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs., stand, sit for extended periods of times.
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with scheduling
  • Experience with ordering supplies.
  • Associates degree
  • Experience working in a non-library customer service position.

Essential duties:

  • Will work with Assistant Director on establishing workflow of circulation department and making changes as needed.
  • Will notify Assistant Director with any staff problems and intervene immediately if problems with staff not providing good customer service.
  • Will assist circulation staff with Polaris Problems.
  • Will schedule circulation staff using an online scheduling system and keep track of absences, sick time, vacations.
  • Will fill staff call-ins and cover vacations with an all part time staff and keep hours under an average of 28 hours per week.
  • Will order supplies working with maintenance man and independently.
  • Will keep vending machine and coffee maker stocked.
  • Will bill patrons and other libraries for lost books.
  • Will assist in hiring process of new pages and circulation staff
  • Will schedule training of new staff.
  • Will notify Director or Assistant Director of any building problems noticed.
  • Will keep circulation staff aware of any changes.
  • Will assist staff with equipment such as cash register or credit card machine.
  • Will work with book-keeper on changing out cash register money in her absence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Full-time Assistant Director
Closing Date: April 16, 2017
Starting Salary $50,300.00 - $56,597.00 Annually

Must be a team player and have a good sense of humor.The Library Interior was recently renovated and you must be able to work in a busy environment and a focus on providing excellent customer service. Five years management experience required. Master of Library Science from an Accredited School or equivalent required. Experience using Polaris System desired. Must have budgeting experience and experience collecting statistics and completing required Library reports. Experience with collection development desired. O'Fallon is a vibrant growing town of 32,000 people with much commercial growth about 16 miles from downtown St. Louis Missouri.
